Tirupati: In a bid to promote high-impact research, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) has announced a grant of Rs. 1 crore to every department towards patient-oriented research.
While announcing promotions to 19 faculty doctors from assistant professor to associate professor cadre through the Internal Promotions Selection Committee, Vice-Chancellor and Director T.S. Ravikumar set aside Rs. 40 crore from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam’s Sri Balaji Arogya Varaprasadini Scheme for the same.
Moreover, Dr. Ravikumar said the Robust Grants Scoring Mechanism adopted by National Institute of Health (NIH), the United States of America, would be in place here to choose research papers.
